This is England's smallest cathedral, and it's in a Nottinghamshire town. However it is said to contain some of the best stone carvings in the country. A guided tour has been arranged and afterwards time will allow you to explore the Bishops palace and the Saxon remains in the garden. We will then walk down Church Street to the Hearty Goodfellow public house for lunch; this will be closed to the public whilst you enjoy the meals shown. Please make your choice and indicate on the sheet attached. We then travel to the Victorian Workhouse (Nat. Trust. So bring your NT card) an introduction talk will explain the layout of the house, so you can wander at leisure (the guided tour will take too long it's about one and half hours). There is a large vegetable garden for those who prefer the outside, a tea room and the shop will provide all your needs. Then it's back to Sutton. Unfortunately the number is limited to 50, so book early, and do not forget your meal choice and NT card. Coach, tour, talk and lunch all for the price of £40 each.

An opportunity to see two distinct areas of our country’s rich historical heritage from the medieval Monastic life to the hardships of working in a Victorian needles mill in the Industrial revolution. Most of the original Victorian water powered mill machinery remains and hopefully they will have the water mill working for us. The tour will start at 10:00 with hot drink and cake on arrival. The group will be split due to size and each will have a tour guide to see how needles are made with time to spend looking at the needles exhibition and the Bordesley Abbey visitor centre which is adjacent to the site. Dinner will be taken around 1:00 at the nearby Beefeater. The museum is around 33 miles from Sutton and car sharing will be arranged nearer the date. The cost will be approximately £8.00 excluding lunch which will be paid for on an individual basis directly to the Beefeater.
